On the morning of July 27, the Vietnam Food Bank, in collaboration with the Vinh Long Red Cross and sponsors, held the inauguration ceremony of the Vinh Long Community Food Warehouse, also known as Food Bank Vinh Long, and the Program to Support Vulnerable People in the province at 125 Nguyen Hue Street, Sub-district 2, Vinh Long City, Vinh Long Province.

The Vinh Long Food Bank was established to ensure resources and maintain a stable food supply to quickly, comprehensively, and diversely support disadvantaged individuals in the area.

Additionally, it aims to enhance cooperation with local agencies, departments, and businesses to jointly implement community programs, striving for a developed society free from hunger and protecting the environment towards the goal of “For a Green Tomorrow.”

Statistics from 2018 to early 2024 show that Food Bank Vietnam has reached and directly supported 8 million people across 46 provinces/cities, distributing 21 million kilograms of food, and expanding with 13 additional food pantries and community food clubs.

This effort has supported disadvantaged individuals in 63 provinces/cities, attracted more than 1,000 volunteers from across the country, served 18 million meals to vulnerable groups, and supported 625 community organizations. Among those supported, 56% are children and 65% are women and children.

At the inauguration event, the organizers presented 50 gift packages to disadvantaged families and individuals in the province. Each gift, valued at 500,000 VND, included essential items and food, aiming to share and encourage those in need.
