From February 27th to March 8th, 2024, as part of the “Tet of Compassion” campaign for the 2024 Year of the Dragon, the Quang Ngai Red Cross Society, along with various local youth organizations, actively mobilized and contributed to ensuring a festive Tet for people in difficult circumstances through the support of unused or surplus candies and cakes left over from Tet to assist children in mountainous districts.

A number of confectionery products have been donated to Food Bank Quang Ngai Warehouse for upcoming support activities

As part of this initiative, the collection and reception of food items were sent to the Food Bank Community Warehouse in Quang Ngai City. Some products have been generously donated to the Food Bank Quang Ngai Warehouse for upcoming support activities.

This activity is considered highly practical immediately after the Tet holiday to combat food waste in households while also raising awareness and disseminating information in the community about optimizing the value of food usage, serving humanitarian efforts, and promoting overall nutritional development in Quang Ngai province. Thus, practical initiatives and actions contribute to advancing societal goals and building food reserves for the poor, encouraging further expansion and replication across various provinces/localities within the Food Bank Vietnam development network.

In the upcoming period, the Community Food Warehouse in Quang Ngai will continue to collaborate, connect, and bring surplus food sources, agricultural products from organizations, businesses, food companies, supermarkets, restaurants, and farmer households to the warehouse for storage. The received food items will be sorted, processed, preserved, and promptly provided to the intended recipients.
